As part of Action plan for 100 Days of KVK’s, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur successfully conducted a Vermicomposting Awareness Programme and Demonstration at Niuland Village on 19th June 2024.
Dr. Bendangla Imsong, CTO Plant Breeding, delivered a comprehensive session on the benefits of vermicomposting, emphasizing its role in enhancing soil health and crop yields through effective organic waste
recycling. She also provided a live demonstration on setting up and maintaining a vermi-bed, feeding techniques, and congenial environmental conditions.
Mrs. Vihuli Zhimo, a local vermicompost grower, shared her practical experiences and challenges with vermicomposting, offering valuable insights for the farmers. Dr. Moanaro, Programme Assistant, KVK Dimapur
highlighted the KVK activities and proposed a formal vote of thanks to all the participants.
The event was attended by 26 local farmers. They expressed enthusiasm to implement vermicomposting techniques in their farms.
